Born William Alvin Chengelis, “Wayward Bill” was Head Chairman of the U.S. Marijuana Party,
until his resignation on May 26th, after a diagnosis of terminal cancer.
He died Saturday August 8th, 2021 at age 70.
He was born in Maryland in 1951, from Youngstown, Ohio growing up and lived in Denver, Colorado as an adult. He was a Student at Youngstown State University. He was very politically motivated all of his life and it shows in the work he accomplished. He never stopped until he became so ill he could not function anymore and it came on suddenly.
He was undoubtedly the best Chairman that the U.S. Marijuana Party ever had as he stayed on duty 24/7/365. Always traveling somewhere or attending functions.
There has been a MEMORIAL PAGE set up on Facebook where all are welcome to add condolences, stories and pictures.
A Memorial in Denver Colorado is in planning stage right now and will be updated on Facebook as details are made public.
He is to be buried in Ohio at a date to be determined.
